afaik IISRESET restarts all of those.
Exercise you actually need to restart IIS, or tin you lot just restart the associated app pool or whatever?

While troubleshooting this issue I restarted IIS manually by opening IIS, selecting the server node, and clicking Restart in the Actions pane. Running iisreset /restart would be the same thing right?

Your 2d article says it is an issue if you do NOT want to restart WAS as well, if your site does not use this, iisreset volition work simply fine

Given you are likely creating a bat file to run on schedule, it doesn't make any difference if its one command or four, the scheduled task will run them in sequence

I restarted IIS (iisreset) on 2012 R2 thousands of times (literally) on IIS servers that take dozens of websites and applications. I had no issues with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Those articles are quite old and don't apply to IIS viii.5 as far every bit I am concerned.
However, the default Application Recycle setting is not optimal. The default is set for 1740 minutes which comes out to every 29 hours. This results in the application pools recycling during business hours a couple of times a week. Just even the application pool recycle is handled better in IIS eight.five. The threads are not dropped as a new puddle is started side by side to the old one.
Best exercise is to ready each of your application pools to recycle early on forenoon (i.e. 2 - 4 am) and run your warm-up scripts earlier business starts. This way your site is e'er hot and ready to go.
Information technology is a very bad habit to IISReset and crusade every 1 of your sites to go completely down.

Best bet is to create a BAT with the command:
iisreset
This volition reset everything for you. Then set a scheduled task on the server and set it to run the BAT. FYI y'all can likewise set the BAT to run on other servers too by pointing the target to alternative servers using a combination of power vanquish and PSTools command psexec. I remote restart a particular application pool using psexec using this batch file whenever I demand to reload the website. Could probably do something similar with PowerShell.
