A screenshot taken in-game, using F1 to hide the heads-upwards brandish.

Screenshots are images taken in-game by pressing the (past default) F2 cardinal or Fn +F2 for Macs and some other keyboards. Screenshots are automatically saved in the "screenshots" folder inside the .minecraft directory.

Like other control keys in Minecraft, the screenshot primal can be customized (in "Options.. Controls... Miscellaneous"), then look in that location if the default central does naught.

Timestamping arrangement [ ]

Screenshots are saved as .png files with a naming format based on the current date and time: YYYY-MM-DD_HH.MM.SS.png. For example, a screenshot taken on June seven, 2022, at 4:24:06 am gets named "2022-06-07_04.24.06.png". If multiple screenshots are saved within the same second, a revision number is appended to the file name (e.k., "2022-06-07_04.24.06_1.png" is the second screenshot taken at that fourth dimension).

Screenshot options [ ]

It is possible to change what features are included in the screenshot past pressing control keys. By default, the screenshots look exactly like the screen during regular gameplay.

Control Primal Function
F1 Hides heads-upward brandish elements such as the health bar, hunger bar, experience bar, and any held items. In multiplayer it too hides the server chat and thespian nametags.
F3 Displays the debug screen. This shows coordinates, entity count, and other various things. Press ⇧ Shift +F3 to pull upwards debug screen with debugging charts.

Storage [ ]

On Windows, screenshots are saved in the .minecraft\screenshots inside the AppData/Roaming binder. This folder can be obtained past typing %appdata%\.minecraft\screenshots into the File Explorer address bar.

For the Windows 10 version of Bedrock Edition, press ⊞ Win +Thou to open the game settings overlay. Nether Game Capturing, click the photographic camera button to accept a screenshot. A notification then appears showing where the screenshot was saved. The default screenshot salve folder is C:\Users\<username>\Videos\Captures.

On macOS, screenshots are stored in ~/Library/Awarding Support/minecraft/screenshots, and on Linux they are stored in ~/.minecraft/screenshots.

The screenshots binder can too be accessed by going to "Resource Packs" in the settings carte du jour, clicking on "Open resources pack folder", and going up one level.
